Our Essential Beliefs
We draw inspiration from Romans 12:1:
“In view of God’s mercy, offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.”
This verse reminds us to live out our beliefs with hearts transformed by God’s mercy and minds renewed by His truth.
This Biblical principle shapes how we live, worship, and engage with one another. We hold firmly to the essential truths of the Christian faith, anchoring ourselves in God’s Word and His call to holiness. At the same time, we extend grace and freedom in non-essential matters, fostering a culture of respect, humility, and love.

We, the Body of Christ,
Should be a living expression of the same.
The Bible
At Northview, we believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, as affirmed in 2 Timothy 3:15-17 and 2 Peter 1:21. It is not just a historical document but a living and active guide for life—a book with the power to change hearts, transform lives, and reveal God’s will for humanity.
We hold firmly to the truth that Scripture is alive and powerful (Hebrews 4:12) and capable of addressing every spiritual challenge we face. No stronghold in our lives is beyond its ability to break, no burden too heavy for its truth to lift.
The Bible not only informs us but also transforms us, equipping us for every good work and guiding us to live in alignment with God’s purpose. At Northview, we strive to study, apply, and live out the teachings of God’s Word, trusting in its power to lead us into greater freedom, faith, and victory in Christ.
Trinity
We believe in the triune nature of God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is one God revealed in three distinct persons, each fully and equally God, yet united in essence and purpose.
This profound truth shapes our faith and deepens our relationship with Him. Through God the Father, we experience His sovereign love, care, and guidance. Through God the Son, Jesus Christ, we are redeemed and drawn into a personal connection through His sacrifice and resurrection. Through God the Holy Spirit, we are empowered, comforted, and transformed from within.
Understanding God as Trinity opens the door to a dynamic and life-giving relationship that transcends human expectations. God’s triune nature reminds us that He is not a distant or impersonal deity but a relational God who invites us into His eternal fellowship of love, unity, and purpose.
This belief is intended to be more than theoretical; it is also practical. It allows us to engage with God in every aspect of life, drawing from His wisdom, grace, and power as we grow in faith and live out His mission in the world.
The Gospel
The Gospel is the power of God that transforms us from mere rule-followers—like the elder son in the parable of the prodigal son—to beloved children of God. It moves us from the confines of religion to the freedom and intimacy of a relationship with our Creator.
We hold firmly to the truth that the Gospel is the power of God to save and transform lives (Romans 1:16). This life-changing message begins with the recognition that we are created in the image of God but have chosen sin, distancing ourselves from Him.
Yet, in His boundless love and power, God sent His Son, Jesus, to pay the ultimate price for our reconciliation. Through His sacrifice, we are invited into a restored relationship with God—a relationship that is not earned but freely given by grace.
The magnitude of this gift compels us toward a life of obedience and discipleship. Knowing the price paid for our salvation, we respond in love and devotion, following Christ not out of obligation but as an act of gratitude and worship.
The Gospel is not just a message; it is the power that redefines who we are and how we live. It calls us into a life of purpose, anchored in God’s love, and inspires us to share this message of transformation with the world.
Salvation
Salvation is the moment when the Gospel’s transformative power changes an individual’s life forever. It is the point where we are rescued from the spiritual darkness of sin and brought into the light of God’s grace and truth.
The Gospel reveals two foundational truths:
- Our Brokenness: We are deeply sinful, unable to save ourselves, and in desperate need of God’s mercy.
- God’s Love: In His great love, God took the initiative to pay the ultimate price for our salvation through Jesus Christ’s sacrifice on the cross.
Our response to this good news is rooted in faith and obedience:
- Repentance: Turning away from sin and realigning our hearts and lives with God’s will.
- Declaration of Jesus as Lord: Publicly and personally committing to follow Jesus as the Lord of our lives.
- Baptism: A powerful act of faith where we receive the forgiveness of sin and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
Salvation marks the start of a lifelong journey with God. Through His Spirit, we are empowered to live in the light, grow in His image, and share the transformative power of the Gospel with others. It is the greatest expression of God’s love and serves as the foundation of our hope and calling.
Sanctification
2 Corinthians 3:18 (NIV)
“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”
As a fellowship, we embrace the belief that conversion is just the beginning of our spiritual journey. Transformation into the likeness of Jesus is a lifelong process. The apostle Paul refers to this as maturity in Ephesians 4, while Romans 1:14-16 reminds us that the Gospel carries the power of God to guide and sanctify us as we respond to its call.
Throughout history, Christianity has often responded to the challenge of sanctification in one of two ways:
- The Religious or Monastic Approach: A retreat from the world, creating isolated communities hiding from the world in the name of spirituality.
- The Secular Approach: A blending with the world, where distinct holiness is compromised, and faith takes on mere religious overtones.
We believe the Gospel provides a third way: to live within our communities while making distinct, godly choices. This path allows us to engage meaningfully with the world without conforming to its patterns.
We focus on serving and uplifting the marginalized—the “mumzer” in our midst. We embody Christ’s mission by extending love, generosity, and service to those often overlooked. This outward focus not only blesses others but sanctifies and transforms us into His image with ever-increasing glory.
Let us strive together in this transformative journey, reflecting God’s glory and becoming more like Jesus in how we live, love, and serve.
